Animo Locke II at the Homecoming Parade! Monday, Nov 3 2008

Animo Locke II had a great showing at the Homecoming Parade on Saturday! Our princes, Marcos and Devante, and our princesses Johanna and Tashaniqua, along with Zhjadae rode in the convertible through the parade waving at the crowd. Aubrey and Luis performed in the band. Savonnah performed with the Flag Team. Latierra represented for the Drill Team. Jessica N. and Scharmika were there with the JROTC. Overall, we had a great time! Check out some of the pictures!

Starting Our 6th Week! Monday, Oct 13 2008

Animo Locke II is starting its sixth week. Students are starting to adjust to the school. Edgar Perez shows his pride on his blog at http://eperez2.tumblr.com/. Also, Ashley Nolen has a great narrative on her adjustment to the school posted on her blog at http://anolen2.tumblr.com/. We have many events coming up, including a school dance, spirit week, and homecoming. There are ups and downs, but overall, we are pushing forward in the right direction! Go Saints!

Principal Speaks at Greater New Unity Baptist Church Monday, Aug 4 2008

Mrs. Alexander, the principal of Animo Locke II, spoke at the Greater New Unity Baptist Church about the transformation of Locke High School. The church is located 10 blocks north of Locke High School at 98th and Avalon. Mrs. Alexander, accompanied by her staff, spoke about how change was needed at the school in the community to combat the current high drop out rates. The congregation was very excited by Mrs. Alexander’s speech. This was a great way to get the word out to the community about the changes at Locke and the development of Animo Locke II!
