Over 40 freshmen accompanied Ms. Johnson, Mrs. Craig, and Mr. Chardon on a trip to UC Santa Barbara where they toured the campus, went to college classes, and spoke with a student panel! It was a great success!

Ms. Cooper’s Drama Class recently competed a unit on one act skits. This past week, the best performances performed for students, parents, and teachers at the “Animo Locke II Best of the Best” performance night. Everyone loved the acting. It was a night that will be remembered! Great job drama students!

Animo Locke II has started the 2010-11 school year! We have new baby blue shirts and are ready for the year! We started it off with a town hall meeting on the first day, featuring Cory Fowler, also known as C-Smoove, from the hip-hop group Cali Swag District. He is a former Animo student. Look for video footage soon! In the meantime, here is Mrs. Alexander’s welcome message for the new year!

Our Community Day Orientation will be on Thursday, August 19, from 4-6 pm at Hobbs Hall. This is a mandatory meeting for all students (freshmen, sophomores, and juniors). The meeting will include information about the new year, information on classes, uniform, and other important details to the year. Make sure to come, all sophomores and juniors will receive a free light blue uniform shirt!

Class of 2014 Completes Summer Bridge! School Starts August 30! Monday, Aug 2 2010

The new 9th grade class successfully finished Summer Bridge with a field trip to the University of Southern California (USC). Summer Bridge is a 4 week program to help incoming freshmen adjust to the expectations of high school. We have a great new class and are looking forward to expanding as a school.
